Contemporary hip-hop and R&B Gospel lovers will enjoy these newcomers, Pastor Jones and RITW Singers. Their album, released earlier this year, is fused with flavorful, funky and spiritual tunes that will make anyone dance in the spirit. Pastor Jones and the RITW (Restoration in the Word) Singers unveil their God-given talent to share a positive and encouraging message to the world.
An accomplished urban music producer, Pastor Jones is not new to the music scene. He has interned under “Puff Daddy” Combs at Uptown Records, worked with hip-hop and R&B superstars including Mary J. Blige, Heavy D, and Montell Jordan, as well as executive producing the soundtracks for ‘Rush Hour,’ and ‘The Nutty Professor.’ He went on to work as a V.P. of A&R at Def Jam Records. Shortly thereafter, he was saved.
“I knew from the day I was saved that I was going to do work in gospel music,” said Pastor Jones. “Through the church it just all came together.” The message Pastor Jones and the RITW Singers want to share on this album is to stand up and believe. This message can be heard on the song, ‘Yes I Can,’ the first single to be released from the album.
Released earlier this year, ‘Breathe Again,’ is a filled with encouraging tracks, urging you to be strong and continue in your walk with God. The title track, ‘Breathe Again,’ testifies to this message. The lyrics explore the meaning of holding onto God’s word in order to breathe again. Continuing with the message of encouragement and strength in God’s word is the hip-hop style track, ‘I Found Love’ featuring Tonex. The slow-tempo ‘Pray,’ reminds us of the importance of prayer, while the catchy ‘On the Cross,’ again testifies to why we should be thankful for the blessings we are constantly receiving through Jesus dying on the cross for us. It is evident Pastor Jones and the RITW Singers will experience success with their powerful message. As Pastor Jones states, “This record is Volume 1….. I want to bring in more artists that I’ve worked with in the past for Volume 2. I see this project as the start of a new movement in gospel music.” And Pastor, we will be waiting.
