Bishop Evans shares book & album “Healed Without Scars” E-mail

ImageReleased earlier this year, Healed Without Scars is an album based on the book written by pastor and author David G. Evans. Influenced by the positive response from the book, Evans felt led to make an album based on the chapters of the book. The 14-track project was produced by Excellence and Stellar award nominee, Pastor Lonnie Hunter, and speaks of everyday issues.

In the book, Healed Without Scars, Evans writes from his own experience of overcoming struggles. His writing is based on scriptural principles for healing. Pastor Evans felt encouraged to write the book after helping many people in all walks of life overcome emotional pain and suffering.

“Historical wounds resulting from rejection, disappointment, abuse, and severe life challenges can often leave us feeling hopeless and without strength,” says Evans, “There is an untapped reservoir of emotional healing available through the power of God.”

ImageThe album, released February 1st by Abundant Harvest Entertainment, Inc, testifies to the power and strength that can be obtained from God’s reservoir of blessings. The album begins with a soothing and encouraging message from Evans, continuing with rich and  soulful prayerful songs.

Tracks such as the uplifting, jazzy, ‘Cause of My Pain,’ details the pain of suffering. The theme of healing from pain continues with the mellow ‘Remove the Mask.’ This song is filled with powerful lyrics telling of God’s plea to bring shattered dreams before Him. The slow-moving ballad is a prayerful rendition on the album, and the accompanying piano showcases musical talent in inspiring simplicity.

This album is like no other; the pain experienced by so many individuals is part of life, and Evans speaks of this subject on the track, ‘I Will Trust.’ The track is performed by Evans himself and written by Lonnie Hunter. The song talks of struggles and of how waiting and trusting in God is what helps to carry through to healing.

While the uplifting, pumped-up ‘Ready to Say Yes!’ brings a classic traditional Gospel feel, ‘According to Your Faith’ ministers with powerful, strong vocals, once again conveying the omniscience of the creator. The musical creativity on this project is apparent in the collection of lyrics and harmonious arrangements.

Lead vocalist Tracy Harris does and exemplary job on ‘The Harvest;’ a stirring, soul-searching melody, backed by a compelling choir. While ‘The Harvest’ invites God to anoint, R&B flavored, ‘Life,’ speaks of the lies, betrayal and lessons learned from experiences in life.

The album ends with the notable title song, ‘Healed Without Scars.’ The expressive track ministers to the process of healing from the pain and defeat, that comes from life’s scars. The savoring ballad will help sooth anyone hurt by disappointment, fear, abuse, rejection, abandonment and suffering.

Evans describes the album as the culmination of varied experiences along with the inspiration of its participants.

“The book and album were created for people who have gone through some things and are having difficulties moving forward,” said Evans.

In the book, Healed Without Scars, Evans describes what happens to people’s lives when they experience pain and suffering through disappointment, fear, rejection, abandonment and abuse. According to Evans, when our hurts linger and never fully heal, they cause emotional scarring that can lead to relational, vocational, and spiritual paralysis.
